Connect your smart thermostat to your Wi-Fi network by following the manufacturer’s instructions, which typically involve downloading an app, creating an account, and following step-by-step prompts. Ensure your Wi-Fi signal is strong at the thermostat’s location to avoid connectivity issues.

 Ensure your new appliance fits properly by measuring the width, height, and depth of the designated space before purchasing. Check for adequate clearance around the appliance for ventilation and access to connections. Consider any door swing or drawer pull space as well.

Install smoke detectors on the ceiling or high on the wall, as smoke rises. Place them outside sleeping areas and inside each bedroom, and on every level of the home, including the basement. Avoid installing them near windows, doors, or ducts where drafts might interfere with their operation.

Position your video doorbell at chest height, approximately 4-5 feet off the ground, to capture clear images of visitors’ faces. Angle the camera slightly downward to reduce glare from the sun and ensure it covers the entire entryway. Use the app’s live view feature to adjust the angle for optimal coverage.

Ensure your curtain rod is level by using a spirit level when marking the bracket positions on the wall. Measure equal distances from the ceiling or window frame on both sides and mark the spots. Double-check with the level before drilling holes and mounting the brackets to avoid crooked installations.
